The Bill of Rights (First 10 amendments)
This lesson helps you understand the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution. They are known as the Bill of Rights. The first two video clips below will help you understand each of the Bill of Rights individually.
Create a Bill of Rights Song. You will need to write the lyrics for a song about the Bill of Rights. You may want to record your performance rather than perform it live.
You can write about all 10 amendments or just focus on a few. For example, your entire song could be about amendment one (Freedom of religion, press, speech, assembly, and petition) This project can be a lot of fun, but it requires some effort and energy from you. Some of you are talented and musical. This is a chance for you to shine. |
Some of you have used apps that help you auto-tune or sing Karaoke style songs. It would be good for you to learn and use new technology. YOU NEED TO WRITE THE LYRICS EVEN IF YOU DON'T Perform or Record the song.
RapPad might be the best place to write and share your lyrics. Songify is an app that will help you create your Bill of Rights song. It turns speech into music. All you need to do is write the lyrics for your Bill of Rights song. I'm not sure if you can use it on a chromebook. |
Pick a song like, Adele's "Hello" Search youtube for karaoke version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4v2jZAkroA
Get the tune in your head. Rewrite the lyrics. Pay attention to the end rhymes.

ORIGINAL LYRICS
Hello, it's me I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet To go over everything They say that time's supposed to heal ya But I ain't done much healing Hello, can you hear me? I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be When we were younger and free I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet There's such a difference between us And a million miles Hello from the other side I must have called a thousand times To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done But when I call you never seem to be home |
