Your culminating project for our study of the Montgomery Bus Boycott is to create a Front Page News Article about an actual historic event that took place in Montgomery between December 1955 - December 1956. 1. VISIT this TIMELINE. http://www.softschools.com/timelines/the_montgomery_bus_boycott_timeline/310/
3. Design the Layout for your newspaper which includes a Masthead (also known as Nameplate) (see examples to the left) The masthead includes the date, name of paper, volume # or edition, location of publication, a logo or graphic, and the price per issue. The masthead is usually framed inside a tinted box. Consider the font or style of print you will use for each section.
5. Create a Headline for your article. Many reporters write the headline after writing their column or article. 6. Find at least 2 images to accompany your article. Back in 1955 / 56, color photography did not exist in printed newspapers. Want to score a 4? You'll need to do more. Add a column and write a biographical style entry on a person (other than Rosa Parks or Martin Luther King Jr.) that participated in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Describe who they are ---- assuming that this was written in 1955 or 1956. |
